アレックス・Ｏ・スミス はベントー・ブックスの設立者の一人で、カジヤ・プロダクションの代表。1998年、ハーバード大学より日本古典文学で修士号を取得後、日本企業に在籍。４年後、プロの翻訳者として日本のビデオゲーム、小説、まんが、詩歌など、多岐にわたる作品を手がける。彼の訳書は、Philip K Dick Special Citation、ALA Batchelder Awardなど、数々の賞に輝いている。鎌倉市在住。
